window treatments are a great way to add texture, interest, and character to any room! when decorating or designing, windows sometimes get forgotten, but I like to use them to my advantage.
I'm sharing a few that I have (or have had) around my home:
1) in our primary bedroom, I have woven wood shades from blinds.com. I chose a darker color to block out more sun to keep the room darker and cooler. these shades start at just $36!
2) in our dining room nook, I actually used twin sheets and curtain rings/clips to create a pleated, more expensive look--only costing $10/"panel" from Target. I also added sheer curtains ($9/each from @Amazon) between the darker panels.
3) our front door has a lot of windows, so for privacy, I added a DIY curtain panel, using just one yard of fabric from @Joann for $5 and curtain rings/clips.
4) in our primary bath, I created DIY café curtains (see previous post for more info!). these little curtains are mainly for aesthetic purposes only, but do create a little extra privacy.
5) previously in our primary bedroom, I had DIY roman shades (see previous post for more info on these also). these were definitely a great way to make our plain white blinds a little better, and the only reason I switched to the woven wood shades is because the actual blinds broke.
6) in our living room, we have a giant window that was not allowing for any privacy, so I found this really cool black lattice window film (only $25/roll). it was also letting in a lot of light and heat, which is great at times, but having blackout curtains was a definite must this summer!
