Back in December, I took a leap and did my first-ever pop up booth at CRANE JOOCHIAT for #Borderlessbutter !! Was pretty nervous the days leading to it but am glad I did it anyway hehe - here are my 4 learnings!
1️⃣ TRYING IS BELIEVING - PREPARE SAMPLES &
let your product speak for themselves.
the best way to convince someone to buy is when they actually enjoy your product.
once people tried the butter for themselves,
i barely did any sales talk.
2️⃣ CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF, VARIETY IS NOT KING
a customer would only spend fairly little time at a single booth, so chances are they will not try many flavors - know your bestsellers and stick to them
My BESTSELLERS? Chunky miso shiitake & sundried tomato with basil! (Ofc, all other flavors are equally great hehe)
3️⃣ VISUALIZE & PLAN BOOTH USAGE AHEAD
booth space often isn’t huge, ask the organizer for table measurements ahead of time & visualize how you want to display the items.
1) helps brainstorm the decor you wna get
2) less panicky on day of pop-up
(you will still be, but that’s another post topic altogether 🤪)
4️⃣ iPad IS GNA BE YOUR BESTFRIEND
bring an ipad (or two) along, again back to point #3 - table real estate is limited, so always have your ipad handy to showcase any information e.g. socials/full menu (save on printing too)
