damn papi, ready for tacos?🌮

hi everyone!!!

it’s been so long since I posted because I was busy with the start of school and so many more! I see that I’ve gained a number of followers recently, so hello to all of you new faces!💛

I recently had a meal at PAPI’S TACOS at their Tanjong Pagar branch with a few friends, so without further ado…. here’s my restaurant review!✍🏻

With a total of 4 pax, here’s what we ordered to share!

Starting with…

HOLY TRINITY

—this was a set with chips, in house guacamole and fresh tomato salsa! A super basic Mexican dish, but I LOVED IT SO MUCH!! Contrary to what’s popular, I actually hate having my chips mixed with dips / other meats! So I was super excited when it came served separately with the dips!

It really keeps the chips crispy, and the dips fresh, so I recommend this to anyone who hates soggy chips👀

CRISPY PESCADO TACOS

—I don’t know much about Mexican terms, but I do know that I 100% loved this taco! I’m a huge fan of fish tacos, and PAPI’s definitely did not disappoint! The fish was crispy, paired with a warm flour tortilla, and was delicious and mouth watering when paired with the veg and chipotle aioli (which was spicy, sour, sweet and savoury!)

The flavours of the different ingredients merged so well together, so much that it makes this a perfect taco (in my opinion!)

GRINGO BURRITO BOWL

—essentially a chicken burrito bowl. It came with rice, beans, chicken and veggies! I’m usually not a huge fan of burrito bowls, but would give this a solid 7/10! Not much to love / hate, but worth a try if you love this dish!

CHICKEN QUESADILLA

—if you know me, you know I always order quesadillas! I love CHEESE and MEAT together, and the Mexican way of combining these ingredients is just genius! The quesadilla at PAPI’s wasn’t particularly mind blowing, rather average, but there’s really nothing to hate!

Worth a try if you live quesadillas~

CHURROS

—I LOVE CHURROS. But….. this one was ok. I’ve tasted better. Their churros was made to just pass, but not get an exceptional score. I’m even wondering if they used frozen churros because they all came in IDENTICAL SHAPES. Oh well, still a 6/10!

🤔Final thoughts:

OVERALL, PAPI’S TACOS at Tanjong Pagar has amazing vibes, and amazing service! Their food was good, but definitely has room for improvement! I would definitely go back for their fish tacos and their holy trinity, and perhaps to try out their other dishes!
