Hey Zesties! 🍋✨
We had a great experience with our photoshoot in Bali, and if you’re planning on capturing stunning moments in Bali, this is your cheatsheet to making it happen! #HowTo #BaliPhotoshoot
1. Must-Visit Locations 🏝️ (*Not all of these photos are ours)
We’ve split the locations into 3 separate timeslots: Sunrise, Midday, and Sunset. Each location has its own entrance fees, usually for the entire group.
Sunrise Locations 🌅:
Kintamani Black Lava: A mystical landscape of black volcanic rocks.
Cekinggan Rice Terraces: Iconic terraced fields for lush, green backdrops.
Tamblingan Lake: Rent a boat and float into the middle for ethereal shots.
Pinggan Village: Top of a hill with breathtaking valley views.
Midday Locations☀️:
Waterfalls: Consider Munduk, Blangsinga, and Tibumana Waterfalls.
Greenery: Begudul Botanical Gardens, Sangeh, and Kintamani Forest.
Sunset Locations🌇:
Beaches: Melasti Beach (white sand) and Nyanyi Beach (black sand).
2. Finding your Perfect Vendors 📸
We've compiled a few vendors that we felt provided great value in the photos but below are our vendors:
Photographer: We loved @avaraphotography. They captured both the fun and mystical elements of Bali that we adore.
Makeup Artist: We had our makeup done by @makeupbyemaarini. She was super amazing and professional, though communication was a bit challenging as she spoke little English. You can easily find a local MUA on IG!
3. What to Expect 🕰️
We opted for a half-day shoot because we knew that we'll probably be dead by 1-2pm if we're getting up at 2am in the morning for a sunrise shoot. Do take note that if you want to do a full-day shoot to capture the sunset, it'll be close to 14-15 hours of shoot.
Our Timeline:
1:30am: Start makeup (took about 1.5 hours)
3:00am: Drive to first location
5:30am: Start shoot at the first location
10:00am: Drive to second location
11:00am: Start shoot at the second location
12:30pm: End shoot
2:30pm: Back to the hotel to rest
We were amazed that some people continue to shoot until sunset! We were so tired already hahaha, but hey, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so you do you if you wanna capture more amazing shots!
More Pro Tips:
Research Your Locations 🤓: Know the terrain and conditions to choose the right outfits and footwear. It gets quite cold in the morning, so bring a light jacket!
Check Logistics with Vendors🕵️: Ensure they have a portable changing room, portable chair, etc., unless you're comfortable changing in the forest or standing for long periods.
Bring Snacks and Water🍿: Stay hydrated and energized throughout the shoot. Small snacks can keep your energy up.
