Let’s Talk About Unreliable Narrators

Unreliable narrators are story tellers whose credibility is compromised in some way. There are many different types such as the Innocent, Deluded, Insane, Outsider, Tall Teller, and the Liar.

Unreliable narrators make for some amazing psychological thrillers filled with shocking twists. Even when you know the narrator is unreliable, you’re still surprised by how since there are so many different types. They can just be slightly misleading or go as far as outright lying to the reader.

Some of my favorite books with unreliable narrators are The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides, Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, and The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. I would highly recommend any of them!

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins and We Were Never Here by Andrea Bartz are next on my TBR list for books with unreliable narrators. I’ve been told that The Girl on the Train is great if you enjoyed Gone Girl!
