all the books i bought while traveling for 6 weeks

After quitting my 9-5, I decided to travel for 6 weeks in Europe and the Middle East

Starting in Portugal, I then went to Spain and finished in Lebanon, where my family currently live

While traveling, I made a vow to slowly build what I like to call my "international book collection" which is where I buy a book from a local bookstore in every city or country that I visit

These are the books that I bought in my last 6 weeks of travel!

1. A Year in The World by Frances Mayes

> Bought in Lagos, Portugal

> A travel memoir that chronicles the author's experiences exploring various countries and cultures around the world, including Portugal, Spain, Turkey, and Greece

2. The Code Book by Simon Singh

> Bought in Lagos, Portugal

> An exploration of the history and significance of cryptography, from ancient times to the modern era. Singh delves into the stories of codebreakers and the evolution of secret writing techniques

3. The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway

> Given to me by a stranger that I met while traveling in Lagos, Portugal

> Follows a group of disillusioned expatriates living in Spain in the 1920s, including the protagonist Jake Barnes, as they navigate the post-World War I era

4. The Great Gatsby by F.S.F

> Bought from Livaria Lello in Porto, Portugal

> Tells the story of Jay Gatsby, a mysterious and wealthy man who throws extravagant parties in the hope of rekindling his romance with Daisy Buchanan, a married woman. The book is told from Nick Carraway's point of view, who was Gatsby's neighbor and Daisy's cousin.

5. The Power of Geography by Tim Marshall

> Bought in Madrid, Spain

> Marshall uses ten important maps to explain complex global issues and predict future trends, making it easier for readers to grasp the connections between geography and our world's future

5. The New Middle East by Paul Danahar

> Bought in Beirut, Lebanon

> Danahar was BBC's Middle East Bureau Chief and covered the entire Arab Spring. In his book, The New Middle East, Danahar explores the lasting effects of the Arab Spring

> The Arab Spring, which started in Tunisia in 2010, is a series of uprisings that occurred throughout the Middle East. Countries like Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Libya, and Syria are most known for their roles in the Arab Spring.

Next week I'm traveling to NYC, so lets see what books I'll pick up while there!
