I failed surg tech school..

Let’s get real…I failed my first semester in the surgical technology program, let’s talk about it!

Failing can feel awful…I experienced it first hand, fell into a depression because I felt like I let everyone down who was rooting for me. But in reality it’s okay to fail. you cannot succeed without a little bit of failure!

How did I fail? Technically it was only on class I failed (OR Techniques), I made one simple little mistake. Had I caught my mistake and fixed what needed to be fixed I would have passed. Sometimes these things happen for a reason. My next step would have been clinical, if I had made that mistake during clinical I would’ve been kicked out of program so better to make the mistakes while in the classroom than out in the real world.

Unfortunately because I failed one class, program policy states I need to retake them all again, so that’s what I’m doing! And I’m going to make sure to be even better this time!
