These Strawberry Pop Tarts have all my heart 💕
Made with flaky homemade pastry dough, fresh strawberry jam, and topped with sweet icing, they’re a nostalgic treat made even better! Plus, the heart shape makes them extra lovely

🌟 Ingredients 🌟
For the Dough:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cold butter (cubed)
4-5 tbsp ice water
Strawberry jam or preserves
1 egg (for brushing the edges)
2 tbsp milk (for brushing the tops)
For the Icing:
2 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
3 tbsp milk
Red or pink food coloring
🥄 Method 🥄
1️⃣ Make the Dough:
Pulse the flour, sugar, and salt in a food processor. Add cold butter and pulse until pea-sized crumbs form. Add the ice water, 1 tbsp at a time, until the dough pulls together.
2️⃣ Chill the Dough:
Flatten the dough into a disc, wrap it in plastic, and chill for an hour.
3️⃣ Shape the Pop Tarts:
Roll out the chilled dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out hearts. Spoon 1 tbsp of strawberry jam onto half of the hearts, brush the edges with egg wash, and top with the other heart cutouts. Crimp the edges with a fork and brush the tops with milk.
4️⃣ Bake:
Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes or until golden.
5️⃣ Add the Icing:
Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and 1 drop of pink or red food coloring for the icing. Once the pop tarts have cooled, spread the icing on top and add sprinkles. Enjoy!
