died and went to pastry heaven🤤 BEST I’VE EVER HAD

ok guys this has gotta be my favourite dessert shop ever. if you love buttery short crust, custard cream, financiers and croissants and cakes and biscuits and tarts 🤤🤤🤤 you’ve GOTTA visit PANTLER at river valley.

my office is in the vicinity, so after having lunch, we popped over to grab some pastries for our tea break! we actually never got around to eating it until 6pm cos we were all swamped with work… but my goodness it was SO DELIGHTFUL especially after waiting an entire afternoon to dig in 🥹

i didn’t take pictures of what my team and i ate, cos i was in the middle of something — and by the time i got to the pantry, everything was cut into bite sized pieces. not a pretty sight 😅

✨ here’s what we ate (and i HIGHLY recommend) ✨

🥐 mille feuille 🍨— $9.50

the word looks like a mouthful, but it’s actually just pronounced as MIL-FOIL. it’s a dessert stacked with puff pastry and custard cream, dusted with icing sugar. the custard was sweet and sooo good, and i don’t even like cream! ngl i ate more of the pastry than the cream, but damn this was yummy.

🥧 dark cherry tart 🍒 bartlett pear tart 🍐 — $9.50

ooof, this was so good, especially when it’s straight out of the refrigerator. the dark cherry tart was mildly sweet, slightly tangy. i usually shy away from cherry desserts cos i don’t like the weird taste, but i’m surprised that i enjoyed this way more than i did the pear tart!

the pear tart has a hint of alcohol to it, but i didn’t feel like it was sweet enough for my milking. pretty mild on the tastebuds! also the fruit was probably poached or something — it’s a bit soft and lacking that crunch which i like in my fruit desserts 😅

🥮financier — $12, maple donut — $3.50🥮

i got this as a takeaway for myself, so i can enjoy it over the weekend. dudes i freaking LOOOVE financiers!

for a bag of 4, it’s $12 so it’s slightly cheaper than henri charpentier. but in general, financiers are usually priced around this range. pantler’s financiers are just what i’d expected — buttery, moist, dense yet airy. a freaking party in my mouth 🥹

the maple donut is DELICIOUS. guys can you tell i’m running out of adjectives?!

ok anyway, run don’t walk — you have to get to pantler 🤤 it’s pretty quiet on weekday afternoons so if you can take time away from work, it’s a nice place to enjoy dessert away from the hustle and bustle of town :)
