Spent 2 days and 1 night at Niagara Falls for my birthday

Definitely preferred the Canadian side but I had fun on the American side as well

When to go:

Summer is the most popular time to go but I enjoyed going in. I think early fall is perfect coz it’s still a little warm but less crowded. I wouldn’t mind doing late fall either as I imagine the leaves would be super pretty

Where to stay:

I stayed at the Embassy Suites by Hilton on the 30th floor. I recommend splurging a little to get a room with a view. It was worth it to me to be able to see the light show and fireworks from my room.

What to do:

The falls are obviously the main attraction and you can see the majority of it for free if you just walk around. The only excursion I paid for was the maid of the mist boat ride and it was so fun going through the falls, plus hearing some of the history of the falls. There’s so many cute spots for a picnic, next time I’m in the area I’ll definitely bring a book and a basket

Where to eat:

If you have the time/money I recommend going to a nice restaurant with a view of the falls. The hotel I stayed at gave us a bunch of coupons for restaurants in the area which was super clutch. I went to the Sky Fallsview Steakhouse and the food was amazing.
