Over a year ago, I really wanted to tone up and build muscle. I want to emphasize, there is nothing wrong with my before. I just felt bored. Pilates and yoga have been apart of my practice for years. I was craving something different.
I started going to HIIT classes once a week. Then from there weight lifting 1-2 times a week to ease into it. Then within a couple of months started weight training 3-5x a week.
I love a mix of everything. I go to reformer pilates once a week, train glutes 3x a week, and other days are up in the air. Some day I’ll just walk. Other days I’ll take a HIIT class or go to hot yoga.
I was SCARED of lifting weights. I thought it was gonna make me super bulky. Once I started training, I realized building muscle takes time and consistency. We still growing the booty.
Don’t be afraid of the weights. They have been a great addition to my fitness journey. I’m fr a gym girly now lol and it really helps me decompress.
I’m not a fitness instructor, but I do believe in the power of doing a little bit of everything. I found when I stuck to the same thing, I stopped seeing results. Now, I am all about trying new things and keeping things fun.
