Fantasy Books to Read Celebrating Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈

Q: Do you plan to read any books celebrating LGBTQIA+ during this Pride Month?

Happy Pride Month, friends and dreamers! I wanted to take this opportunity to feature some fantasy books/ books with magic that I loved who have main characters who are LGBTQIA+! There are many out there, and I'd love to hear which ones you have read and loved recently (gimme ALLLL the recs!!) but these two series were really fun and I wanted to show them off! All of these have main characters who are gay or bi, so I'd love to hear any sapphic books with magic you know of!

🏳️‍🌈 The Simon Snow Series by Rainbow Rowell: Carry On, Wayward Son, and Any Way the Wind Blows are the books in this completed trilogy that follows Chosen One Simon Snow and his best friend Baz (vampire and, in the words of Simon, "complete git". The initial book in the series is touted as being part ghost story, love story, and mystery. Follow Simon as he bumbles his way through monster battles, awkward conversations, and . . . . love??

🏳️‍🌈 The second set of books are all standalones, but I loved each of them! They are by author F. T. Lukens and can be read in any order! The titles are: So This is Ever After, In Deeper Waters, and Spell Bound. My favorite of these three is Spell Bound, a story following a nonmagical boy who apprentices himself to the most powerful (and mysterious) magical investigator/ solver of magical emergencies. When disaster strikes, he must then team up with a rival sorcerer's apprentice to save their teachers from the Magical Consortium.
