in my pilates princess era! 👸🏻 I’ve always wanted to try out reformer pilates after seeing all my korean idols with beautiful lean & toned bodies do it (jennie, yeri, wonyoung, somi, taeyeon & more!) so I was curious as to how this seemingly chill workout can help tone their bodies 😊 as a medium-sized girl, I’ve always been afraid to do pilates/yoga because I felt afraid of judgement that my fats will come out when I do it 😂 (also body insecurities on my part) but since ClassPass was offering a free 1 month trial, I decided to just throw away any fear & try it out! this was how it went:
BEGINNER CLASS 😝 ———
for first-timers, you should definitely pick a beginners’ class as the reformer can be quite tricky to work with! 🤭 as the reformer should be used to aid in the workout, you really need to learn the basics if not you might get confused (imagine falling while the reformer is moving 😭) I chose a beginners class & the instructor went really slow to ensure that we could understand how to use it with regards to placements & how to use the machine! however, personally since I dance & am pretty flexible, I felt that I could be pushed more & was encouraged to attend intermediate classes by the instructor instead! nonetheless, I thought it was essential to cover the basics & I actually had a good workout which led my body feeling sore throughout the next day 😌 the tip is to go slow instead of fast & you’ll find yourself working more muscles & really utilizing your muscles instead of doing it with wrong form fast!
INSTRUCTOR 🧘♀️ ———
the class instructor, maria, was super friendly & cute! i loved that she asked for everyone’s names & checked up on us constantly, using different person as example each time & walked around to correct us. she even gave us alternatives to do if we were to have cramps (while she pushed us, she was kind & understanding too!) I loved that she kept joking with us & kept the mood good ☺️ if you’re a beginner you don’t have to be afraid cause she’s super helpful & encouraging 🥹
AMENITIES 😌 ———
it’s a huge & clean space!! 🤭 I love the studio because it’s really simple & minimalistic other than the equipments, here are what’s provided by the studio:
✧ lockers
✧ clean & huge toilet!! but no shower
✧ water cooler
you need to bring your own grip socks! if not they’re available for purchase, but you can get cheaper ones if you don’t care about aesthetics here 😝
do bring your own towel if needed as well~ after class they’ll ask everyone to clean their own reformer so you don’t have to worry about hygiene🤍
OVERALL 💥 ———
8/10! an amazing first experience, will be opting for intermediate classes instead but I do see why idols love Pilates & how it’s so hyped up rn!! it rly makes you work a lot of muscles & give you a whole body good workout without dripping a lot of sweat/make you breathless unlike some other workouts! I was on my period (sighs in #CelebrateWomen ) too when hardcore workouts were #NotForMe & I could get a good effective workout despite that 🫶🏻

it’s however definitely a #MyGoTo pilates studio for cbd working adults since it’s conveniently located in the heart of cbd at Raffles Place!
