Ali and her autism part 1 - SLEEP -

For some people sleep comes easy. They lay down their head on a pillow and instantly they are out. Off to dreamland where they dream of all their favorite things.

I am so jealous of that. With my sensory issues sleep does not come easy. Even with medication it’s tough. I can sleep during the day easily. It comes so naturally. But at night everything bothers me from my hair to how my skin feels. Sometimes I love my blanket and sometimes it annoys me so much. The sensory issues I have now though are so much better than they used to be. I had rituals to be able to go to bed at night. It was a whole thing that drove my partner at the time insane. Now though I take meds and try and sleep but if the sensory stuff bothers me I take anxiety meds and let that sweep me away to my nightmares.
