Dreamy Big Island Beach☀️

🦀Check out this amazing beach on the Island of Hawai'i! This beach is located in Kailua-Kona! It is known as Old Kona Airport State Recreation Area! This is about a 15 minute drive from Kona International Airport or 5 minutes from Downtown Kona!

🦀This is one of my favorite beaches because it’s so laid back and never overcrowded! It takes about 5 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the beach. There is tons of parking so you never have to worry about that! It is pretty accessible to almost everybody which is also great!

🦀Depending on the time of day and the tide you may even be able to see some tide pools! The last time I was there I went around 3 pm and there were tons of tide pools visible! I love checking them out and looking in them at all of the sea life! This beach has a lot of lava rock so make sure to step only on that! It can be slippery and sharp, so be careful!

🦀Another reason I love this beach so much is because there are tons of tables that make for a great picnic spot! There are also quite a few trees that provide good amount of shade covering. This beach is not sandy, it is super rocky, but it is such a special place! Give it a try next time you find yourself on the Big Island!
