Let’s talk about adult friendships breakup

Hey zesties,

this topic is gonna be really hard for me.

I am an extrovert so having friends is very important to me. I used to have many friends but as time passed,we grew older, I lost contact with most of my ‘friends’.

I went through 3 close friendships breakup. They were previously all my close friends. Somehow I guess each of us have different seasons in life and we drifted apart. I even reached out to them and they ignored my messages. I tried a few times, to no avail they didn’t reply. Previously when I initiated meetups and asked for availability, my ‘friends’ say they are busy.

Two of these ‘friends’ even left the group chat w/o even saying anything. I was appalled and devastated.

So how did I cope?

I cried a lot. I blamed God. I blamed myself. I went through the 5 stages of grief. I find ways to fill up the void in my heart like maybe shopping, eating , exercising etc.

Each of these friendships were really precious to me and to go through 3x, it’s really never get better.

People talk about relationships breakup but less is talk about friendships breakup. Both also go through the 5 stages of grief.

Some tips for ppl who are going through this season:

✨ Take some time to heal. It will definitely hurts. Find some healthy ways to cope with it.

✨Talk to someone to process all these that u are going through. Your partner or family members or another close friend or a counsellor.

✨You will definitely lose certain friends during each season of your life but it’s okay. That is just life. Do what best for yourself!

✨Cherish those friends who treat you as one of their priorities. Those are rare friends.

(I am really thankful to have two close girlfriends that i been friends for 17 yrs💖)
