Where this cult fave spf fell short 🫢

ISNTREE's hyaluronic acid watery sun gel was one of the first korean sunscreens to make it into so many people's holy grails, but these reviews were often from people with combi/dry skin, so I never felt inclined to buy this spf.

I finally got to try it to give my honest review, and i would say this is a 3-4 out of 5. It's not a bad product by any means, just not to my preference as an oily gal 😵

Pros:

💧chemical filters, spf50 PA++++

💧hydrating & moisturising (i can skip moisturiser when using this)

💧blends relatively fast with no white cast after a few minutes

💧cushiony lotion texture feels lightweight & breathable

💧great ingredients: niacinamide, ceramide NP, centella extract, glycerin, houttuynia cordata extract, olive fruit oil, tocopherol (vit E), astaxanthin (antioxidant) & 8 types of hyaluronic acid?!?

💧affordable at ~$16 for 50ml (Shopee link)

Cons:

❗️looks very dewy (dolphin skin??), then settles slightly to a glowing moisturised finish (which is too much for my oily skin imo)

❗️emollient if you touch your face

❗️ps. they named this a gel, but i wouldn't call it a gel. Maybe it can get away with being a gel-cream but it's still more of a lotion texture imo.

My Usage:

〰️ since I have other spfs that don't look hella glowy on me, I would use this indoors when I don't have to meet people

〰️ alternatively, if I'm going for a super juicy glass-skin / glazed donut makeup look, this would be my pick

Recommendation:

〰️ combi-dry skinned folks

〰️ minimal folks - those who want to skip moisturiser step with their spf

〰️ those who want a very glowy finish
